Arrested and imprisoned in a small Swiss town, a prisoner begins this book with an exclamation: “I’m not Stiller!” He claims that his name is Jim White, that he has been jailed under false charges and under the wrong identity. To prove he is who he claims to be, he confesses to three unsolved murders and recalls in great detail an adventuresome life in America and Mexico among cowboys and peasants, in back alleys and docks. He is consumed by “the morbid impulse to convince”, but no one believes him.
This is a harrowing account—part Kafka, part Camus—of the power of self-deception and the freedom that ultimately lies in self-acceptance. Simultaneously haunting and humorous, I’m Not Stiller has come to be recognized as “one of the major post-war works of fiction” and a masterpiece of German literature.

⭐⭐⭐👉I want to share this info with people coming over here to download stuff.
On 19 nov 23 a book called ‘on palestine’ by naom Chomsky and pappe was uploaded on the site and I wanted to download it, after a few hours when i came back to download it, i found that it was removed.
There is this person with the user name of ‘freepalestine’ some of his uploads that gave the point of view of Palestine have been removed as well.
I know this is a piracy site and you can not point fingers at people for doing something, but I wanted to point this out.
I want folks who come here to check it for themselves and know that this is happening.

I mentioned before that overall I just don’t ‘get’ Max Frisch.
This book (Stiller) would be one of two exceptions to that rule: it’s an unputdownable unreliable narrator book where you can actually feel the tension on every page between the fictional narrator spinning you a line about the story, and you the reader who wants to believe.
It’s one of the earliest Truther novels, and I’m finding them more revisitable with every new conspiracy theory I hear.

Great that you liked this. Check out Frisch’s _Mein Name ist Gantenbein_ (1964), translated into English (I am not sure how well) as _A Wildness of Mirrors_.
