For some reason I always prefer the latest version of a book. Even if it isn’t the greatest. The satisfaction of contemplating the new fangled cover and knowing it’s the one, is just… 👌

That’s the appeal of the novel, right there.
Satan is probably intended as the evil, ironically uncharismatic Cromwell.
Milty taught his daughters to read, but not understand, Greek, Latin, & Hebrew; in order to pursue his literary project.
Due to his proficiency in Greek, Latin, Hebrew, French, Italian - he was the equivalent of a minister of foreign affairs in the Cromwellian regime.

This is a great book. I have it in leather bound, paperback, and 2 audiobook versions. I will definitely check this one out.
