Whether we agree with her work or not, it influenced the gender narrative for the rest of the 20th century.
Going forward, the pendulum is swinging towards defining masculinity. I believe the work of Rollo Tomassi and his Rational Male series will be just as influential in the 21st century.

Had you actually bothered to read or listen to the book, you would know that she wasn’t saying they were second to men. She was criticizing the idea that they are, that women are some sort of aberration from the ‘default’ form of men. She’s criticizing much of femininity being a performance to please men (who are in turn putting on their own performance of masculinity).
