Thanks for this.
Without a “cue” file how do you break it into “chapters” with the file/book titles?
I can use “freeac” to convert into mp3 and break into “chapters” but the chapters do not represent the file/book titles.

@northernrunner: Sorry, this was not my purchase and I face the same issue as you with this unwieldy book and its thousand and odd chapters. I’d dropped a message to the original uploader asking for the cue sheet but I haven’t received a response. I’ll link it here if I do.

Yes, freeac and foobar and other apps can convert M4B to chapters.
I’ve done that with freeac and created the chapters. However, the xhapters do not show what the actual book titles are. As a result, I don’t know where the actual book files start or finish.
It appears that none of those apps can convert the files into the actual stories or book titles without the accompanying cue file.
I’d be happy to be corrected.

@northernrunner: probably these chapters don’t have any metadata other than the times. So you have to manually (aurally) listen and tag them.

Hi! Many thanks for the links, but as @northernrunner says, the problem is not splitting this file into individual chapters, but into individual books/works and I haven’t the foggiest as to how to do that without embedded metadata.
