The Translation by W.H.D. Rouse and read by Anthony Heald as Narrator is the best unabridged edition. imo

For translation, the best and closest to the original in meter is Richard Lattimore’s translation of both the Iliad & the Odyssey, read by Gordon Griffin. Dan Stevens narration of Fitzgerald’s translation is arguably the best narration, although Griffin’s narration is a near second. I am generally suspicious of “stars” reading classics; mostly blown up narration.

Thanks you for the information although Griffin is nightmarish to listen to for a very long time. her narration of women characters makes cry. I hope he doesn’t destroy Richard Lattimore’s translation with news channel narration.
